Part 1 · The basics

What this machine does

When you have sleep apnea, your throat can relax and close while you sleep, so you stop breathing for short moments — over and over, all night. This machine quietly prevents that.

It blows a soft, steady stream of air through a tube and a face mask. That gentle air pressure acts like a cushion that holds your airway open, so you keep breathing smoothly and sleep through the night. A small water tank warms and moistens the air so your nose and throat don't dry out.

Good for
Adults with sleep apnea, heavy snoring, or trouble getting enough air at night.
Where to use it
At home in bed, or in hospital. Always set up by, or on the advice of, a doctor.
Your model
Maisiwei M04 — the full version. It can run simple or advanced breathing modes (see Section 9).
!Please remember
This is a comfort and treatment machine, not a life-support machine. If the power goes out while you are not using it, nothing dangerous happens — it simply stops. Use it under your doctor's guidance.

The screen and the two controls

There are only two things to touch: the round knob and the Start/Stop button. Master these and you can do everything.

Turn the knob
to move the highlight from one thing to the next, or to change a number up and down.
Press the knob
to choose what's highlighted, and to save a number after you change it.

Part 2 · Every day

Setting it up the first time

Do this once, on a flat, steady table near your bed and near a power socket — away from water and out of direct sun. After the first time, you only need to top up the water (Section 5).

1
Slide the water tank out. Make sure the machine is unplugged first.
2
Open the lid and fill with distilled water. Stay between the MIN and MAX lines. Never fill past MAX. Close the lid. (Full details in Section 5.)
3
Slide the tank back into the machine until it clicks into place.
4
Connect the tube. Push one end onto the round air outlet, and the other end onto your mask.
5
Plug in the power. Adapter into the socket on the back, then into the wall.
6
The screen lights up. You're ready. Put the mask on and you can start (Section 6).
Tip
Leave it set up and plugged in by the bed. Each night you just put the mask on and press Start.
05
Part 2 · Every day

Adding water

The water tank moistens the air so your nose and throat stay comfortable. Check it before bed and top it up when it's low.

MAX MIN
Keep the water between the two lines
Above MIN so it doesn't run dry, below MAX so it can't spill into the machine.
Use distilled water only
No tap water or mineral water — they leave deposits. No distilled water on hand? Boil water, then let it cool to room temperature first.

How to refill

1
Unplug the machine and slide the water tank out.
2
Open the lid, pour distilled water up to (not over) the MAX line, and close the lid.
3
Slide it back in. It's good to change the water every day so it stays fresh.
!Important
Never tip or turn the machine upside down while there's water in the tank — water can get inside and damage it. Always empty the tank before moving or storing the machine.

Part 2 · Every day

Using it each night

1
Put the mask on
Comfortable and snug, no big gaps.
2
Press Start
The Start/Stop button. Air begins to flow.
3
Sleep
Breathe normally. The machine does the rest.
4
Press Start again
In the morning, to stop.

The big number is the pressure right now. You don't need to do anything with these — they're just for you and your doctor to glance at.

Don't like the cold blast at the start? Turn on Ramp so it begins soft and builds up slowly, and turn on Preheat so the water is already warm. Both are in the next section.

Comfort settings

These three live right on the home screen and are safe to adjust yourself. For each one: turn the knob to land on it, press, turn to change, press to save.

0–6

Humidity

How moist the air feels. 0 is off, 6 is the most moisture. If your nose feels dry, turn it up; if you notice drops of water in the tube or mask, turn it down. A setting of 3–4 suits most people.

0–60
min

Ramp (gentle start)

Starts at a low, easy pressure and slowly climbs to your full pressure over the time you set — so it's comfortable while you fall asleep. Set the number of minutes (steps of 5, up to 60). Set it to 0 to turn ramp off.

On/Off

Preheat

Warms the water before you start, so the very first breaths aren't cold. Turn it on a few minutes before bed.

!Before turning humidity on
Make sure the water tank is properly clicked in and filled with distilled water.

The machine quietly saves this to the SD card. If your doctor asks for your data, just bring the card or the machine.

Part 3 · Doctor settings

Pressure & breathing modes

!Leave this to your doctor
The pressure and mode decide how the therapy works for your body. Your doctor has already set them for you. This section explains what they mean and how the menu works — so you understand your machine — but don't change these on your own.

How the doctor opens these settings

From the home screen, press and hold the Start button and the knob at the same time. This opens the hidden Doctor menu. It's tucked away on purpose, so it can't be changed by accident.

The breathing modes (your M04 has all of them)

CPAP
One steady pressure all night. The simplest mode.
Auto
The machine raises or lowers the pressure by itself, as your breathing needs.
S
Two pressures — a stronger one as you breathe in, gentler as you breathe out. You trigger each one.
T
The machine sets the breathing rhythm on a timer.
ST
Follows your own breathing, but steps in with a backup rhythm if you pause.

Part 4 · Care & problems

Cleaning every week

Clean it at least once a week. Always switch off and unplug first. Let the water cool before you touch the tank.
PartHow to clean it
Machine bodyWipe with a soft cloth, lightly damp with water or mild soap. Never soak it or run it under a tap. Dry before use.
Water tankEmpty leftover water, soak in mild soapy water, rinse with water no hotter than 41°C (warm, not hot), then air-dry.
TubeRinse the inside with mild soapy water, then clean water. Hang to dry away from direct sunlight (sun can warp it).
MaskFollow the mask's own instructions. Wipe the parts that touch your face.
!Don't
No bleach and no strong alcohol (over 75%). Don't soak the machine body. Make sure every part is fully dry before putting it back together.
11
Part 4 · Care & problems

Replacing the filter

The air filter is a small foam pad that keeps dust out of the machine. Check it weekly and swap in a fresh one — you got spares in the box, and they're cheap to buy more.

slide out
1
Open the filter cover on the machine.
2
Take out the old foam pad and put in a new one.
3
Close the cover. Make sure the pad sits flat and snug.
When to replace
About once a week — or sooner if it looks grey, dusty, or torn. A clogged filter makes the machine work harder.

Messages on the screen

If the machine shows one of these and beeps, here's what it means. If a restart and the simple check don't fix it, call the supplier — never open the machine yourself.

Part 5 · Safety & reference

Important safety rules

Do
  • Keep it on a flat, steady surface away from water.
  • Use only the supplied adapter, tube, and accessories.
  • Keep the tube and cord unkinked and uncovered.
  • Use distilled water only in the tank.
  • Keep the back vents clear so it can cool.
Don't
  • Don't use near fire, smoking, or extra oxygen (fire risk).
  • Don't open or repair the machine yourself.
  • Don't let water get inside it; don't tip it with water in.
  • Don't use it if the room is hotter than 40°C.
  • Don't wrap the tube or cord around your neck.
Keep away from
MRI, CT scanners, and strong radio signals. Keep mobile phones a little away from it.
If using extra oxygen
Turn the machine on first, and keep the oxygen source at least 1 metre away.
Power
Works on normal household power (100–240V). Don't lay the cord on anything hot.
!If anything seems off
Strange noises, a cracked case, or air leaking from the machine itself — stop using it and contact support.
